Nairobi
DAY 1
TOUR HIGHLIGHT
Nairobi is the capital and the largest city of Kenya. The name comes from the Maasai phrase Enkare Nyrobi, which translates to "cool water", a reference to the Nairobi River which flows through the city. Nairobi is home to great museums, galleries and markets. A walk through the markets will give you a glimpse into the culture of Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the largest airport in Kenya is located in Nairobi.
Lake Bogoria
Lake Bogoria is a saline, alkaline lake that lies in a volcanic region in a half-graben basin south of Lake Baringo, Kenya, a little south of the equator. Lake Bogoria, is home to one of the world's largest populations of lesser flamingos. The lake is a wetland site and Lake Bogoria National Reserve has been a protected National Reserve since November 29, 1973. Lake Bogoria is shallow (about 10 metres in depth), and is about 34 km long by 3.5 km wide.
DAY 2
The Serengeti
Spanning from north Tanzania to southwestern Kenya, the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and the Ten Natural Travel Wonders of the World. It is home to the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world. The best time to visit Kenya is between September and December for the Great Migration. Two million wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes migrate from Serengeti National Park to Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve, and it’s one of the most breath-taking sights you’ll ever see by safari game drive.
DAY 3
Hell’s Gate National Park
Hell's Gate National Park lies south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, north west of Nairobi. Hell's Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. It was established in 1984. A small national park, it is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. Hell’s Gate National Park is named after the intense geothermal activity that takes place inside the park. With towering cliffs and dramatic volcanoes, this is the place for mountain biking, rock climbing and visiting a natural spa.
DAY 4
Maasai Mara National Park
Maasai Mara National Reserve is a large game reserve in Kenya, sharing a common border with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honor of the Maasai people (the ancestral inhabitants of the area) and their description of the area when looked at from afar. It is globally famous for its exceptional population of lions, leopards and cheetahs, and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year from July to October, known as the Great Migration.
One of the highlights of Maasai Mara National park is visiting the local Maasai community. The houses are built in a circle made of dung. You’ll be fascinated by the stories they tell and discover new found respect for their culture and way of life.
