West Coast, Garden Route & Winelands Tour

13 Days Itinerary

 

Description:

 

After collecting your baggage, travel by luxury coach to the iconic Table Mountain National Park. Travel by cable car to the top of Table Mountain overlooking the City of Cape Town.

After breakfast, travel to The West Coast National Park. Here lies the most beautiful stretch of land that lights up like a rainbow of colour with an endless display of flowers. Thereafter travel to Paternoster, a sought after tourist destination and is known for lobster and the white-washed fishermen’s cottages.  Travel to the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve and enjoy a guided tour.

Travel to Lamberts Bay - Bird Island Nature Reserve and enjoy a tour. This nature reserve is one of only six places in the world where Cape Gannets breed and here you can see the Cape Gannet from up close. Hereafter travel to Clanwilliam – The Rooibos Capital of the world. Enjoy a Rooibos Tea Tasting session at the Rooibos Teahouse.

 

After a scrumptious breakfast transfer to the Rooibos Factory. This factory makes not only rooibos tea, but all different rooibos products. You will enjoy a guided tour!

Transfer to Cape Town for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

After breakfast travel along the coastal road to Hermanus. Enjoy whale watching either by the seaside or by boat cruise. Lunch will be enjoyed in a traditional cave previously inhabited by a Koi Strandloper of the same name, the restaurant spills out onto the rocks of Walker Bay in Hermanus. After lunch travel to Caledon Hotel & Spa and enjoy an afternoon lounging in the natural hot springs. The hot springs originate by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater that rises from the Earth's crust. It produces over a million litres of water daily with an average temperature of 65 degrees Celsius source.

 

Travel to the southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas. Visit the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse Museum which was opened in 1994 and is the only one of its kind that is found in Africa. The museum is a wonderful historical source of not only the lighthouse but also of the old fish traps that were used hundreds of years ago by the indigenous Khoisan people. Travel to Mossel Bay, visit and enjoy a guided tour of Dias Museum and the oldest post office known as The Postal Tree. Transfer to Knysna for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

After a scrumptious breakfast visit the Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth. On route back to Knysna stop over at the Bloukrans Bridge and witness the highest commercially operated bungy jump in the world. Enjoy a sunset lagoon cruise to The Knysna Heads.  End of the day by indulging in a lovely oyster dinner.

 

After breakfast you’ll visit the limestone caverns of the Cango Caves and enjoy a historical tour of this spectacular attraction. Thereafter you’ll visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour and delicious lunch. Check into your lodge for dinner, a magical game drive and an overnight stay in Oudtshoorn.

 

Travel to Paarl and the Language Monument. You’ll admire the great architecture and the symbolism that goes with the monument. It is visually really beautiful, with stunning views of the surrounding area. Enjoy a drive along the Paarl Wine Route on route to Spice Route. Spend the afternoon exploring Spice Route, a multi-activity wine farm tucked away on a mountainside in Paarl.

 

Travel to the town of Franschhoek and discover the vineyards by tram. This is such a unique experience to explore the beauty that Franschhoek has to offer. Enjoy a lovely wine tasting and picnic lunch experience at a beautiful wine estate. Visit the Franschhoek Motor Museum and visitors have the opportunity to look back at more than 100 years of motoring history. Enjoy a tour of Stellenbosch on route to your hotel for dinner and an overnight’s stay in the winelands.

 

 After breakfast travel to Hout Bay and enjoy a ½ hour Duiker Island boat trip. Travel along the majestic Chapmans Peak to Cape Point Nature Reserve. After lunch visit Boulders Beach where you will spend the afternoon engaged with the African Penguins.

 

The last day of our tour will include a Cape Town City Tour as well as a Bo – Kaap Tour. Lunch will be an authentic African style meal. Visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens before your departure to the airport for your next destination.
